Spurs and Warriors went to double overtime and Manu ended with a game winner.
Stephen Curry, WOW is he good.
I decided to watch Wednesday night’s Warriors and Knicks game in New York at The Garden. And I am very glad that I did. I experienced the magnificent artwork of Warriors PG Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry is the only reason that the Warriors almost won the game Wednesday night. He kept them in the game the whole time. With All-Star rebounding machine David Lee suspended because of his brawl with Roy Hibbert, Curry knew that he needed to step up his game in New York. And step up he did.
The young PG scored a career high 54 points. Yup, 54! He went 18 of 28 from the field, with 11 made 3-pointers in 13 attempts. Along with that, he had 6 rebounds and 7 assists, while going 7 for 7 from the line. A career night. He played all 48 minutes, and you can just tell that he was absolutely drained. Even during the third quarter, he looked as if he just wanted to pass out on the floor.
But, he obviously didn’t. This big of a performance was unexpected for sure. He played phenomenally. He became the first visiting player in MSG, since LeBron James in 2009, to score at least 50 points against the Knicks. What a show it was by Stephen Curry. But in the end, it didn’t pay off enough for the win. As Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith also had big night, they led the Knicks to grab the W.
But, Curry’s performance does prove somethings. It proved that he should have been an All-Star, and it also proves that he is able to step up when he needs to. As I mentioned earlier, David Lee was not playing. That right there with him out is 20 points and 20 rebounds gone. So, Curry did what he had to do to keep them in line for the win. He also played tremendous defense. He had 3 steals, but also had 4 turnovers.
This is the second game in a row now that Curry has had at least 35 points. So, we’ll see what the young man has in store for us Friday night against the Boston Celtics. Because he does have the potential to be a great PG. He is a great athlete and basketball player. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on over the next few years as he progresses.
The final score of the game was: Knicks-109 Warriors-105
